We are currently looking for an Industrial Mechanic to join our Maintenance team to assist with PMs and Projects for our 160,000 sq. ft. facility in Burnaby, BC. This a great opportunity for anyone tired of travelling to camps and different job sites, and looking to grow and develop in their career.
As a Industrial Mechanic, your responsibilities will include:
- Completing all necessary guarding upgrades as specified by WorkSafe BC to operating and non-operating plant equipment
- Completing any additional repairs and modifications or upgrades that will enhance the operating efficiency and or life cycle of equipment
- Assisting in teardowns, re-assembly and/or installation of new equipment.
- Ensuring breakdowns are handled in the most efficient manner
- Carrying out any Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Pneumatic or adjustments on equipment
- Performing preventative maintenance per company and machine manufacturer’s recommendations
- Ensuring all work is completed to schedule and is cost effective
- Adhering to all company safety standards
- Meeting new machine installation deadlines, making the machine available for production at the earliest opportunity
- Collaborating with Maintenance Coordinator on parts and services ordering.
- Ensuring all maintenance-generated paperwork meets company procedures
- Participating in ongoing maintenance projects
- Utilizing strong Millwright skills and experience to act as a mentor to Apprentice Millwrights
- Other tasks and duties as assigned by Facilities Leader
What you bring:
- 1 -3 years’ experience as a Millwright within a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in troubleshooting and problem solving
- Strong oral and written English communication skills
- Collaborative team member with the ability to also work independently
- Ability to prioritize workload and effectively meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work within a dynamic and quickly changing environment
- Welding and fabrication experience (Current welding ticket would be a considered a strong asset)
- Experience in reading diagrams, schematic drawing, and hydraulic and pneumatic experience
- Available to work either Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday
- Available to work holidays if shutdown maintenance is required
- Must have knowledge of guarding installation practices and have own tools
