Position Overview
The Business Systems & Automation Analyst supports the reliability and day‑to‑day operation of the company’s business systems, end‑user technology, and digital workplace while contributing to automation and data initiatives aligned with the company’s modernization strategy.

This role combines hands‑on support of enterprise applications and desktop technology with the design and delivery of automation solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform. The role also supports the company’s evolving experience working with centralized data repositories used for reporting and analytics which will enable future automation, analytics, and reporting capabilities. The position works closely with internal teams and third‑party IT partners to ensure operational continuity, timely issue resolution, and Reports to IT & IS Manager.

Key Responsibilities
Business Systems & Application Support
  • Support the day‑to‑day reliability of core business systems and applications to ensure uninterrupted operations
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to ERP systems, Microsoft 365 applications, reporting tools, Excel, SQL‑based outputs, and business applications
  • Analyze application errors, data discrepancies, and system performance issues
  • Prioritize incidents based on operational and business impact
  • Coordinate with third‑party IT providers for infrastructure‑level issues and ensure follow‑through to resolution
  • Support time‑sensitive operational, production, and reporting needs
Desktop, Hardware & Physical IT Support
  • Assist in administration of help desk ticket system.
  • Provide hands‑on support for end‑user desktop and workstation technology
  • Set up and maintain workstations, monitors, peripherals, docking stations, desk phones, and mobile devices
  • Support meeting rooms, boardrooms, and training rooms to ensure readiness and functionality
  • Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, and device‑related issues, company-wide [office/production/offsite].
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities, including physical equipment setup and recovery
  • Manage physical access items such as office and server room keys and access devices/control.
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and coordinate procurement or replacement as needed
  • Work with facilities and third‑party providers to resolve physical IT or connectivity issues
ERP & Operational Systems Support
  • Support ERP functionality related to order processing, production tracking, inventory, and shipping
  • Investigate and resolve ERP performance and data issues
  • Manage ERP user access, roles, and permissions
  • Create and maintain SOPs, user guides, and training documentation
  • Liaise with ERP vendors for escalated or urgent issues
  • Work closely with Production, Sales, Inventory, and Finance teams to resolve system‑related blockers
Workflow Automation
Design, deliver, and support enterprise-grade business workflows using low-code, no-code, and integration platforms to improve efficiency, control, and visibility across core operations.
  • Build and support workflow-driven applications to digitize and standardize end-to-end business processes across departments.
  • Design and manage automated workflows, including approvals, notifications, data synchronization, exception handling, retries, and escalation logic.
  • Integrate workflows with ERP systems, databases, document management platforms, and other line-of-business applications.
  • Ensure automations are secure, auditable, reliable, and production-ready, with monitoring, error handling, logging, and clear ownership.
  • Apply governance and lifecycle management practices, including environment separation, version control, documentation, and controlled change management.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate process requirements into scalable, maintainable workflow automation aligned with IT, security, and data governance standards.
Reporting & Data Support
  • Write and maintain SQL queries for operational and management reporting
  • Support KPI and executive reporting
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies and data issues
  • Transition manual or spreadsheet‑based reports into automated or governed solutions

Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Tools
  • Support Microsoft 365 services including user access, licenses, groups, shared mailboxes, and MFA
  • Administer SharePoint Online sites, libraries, lists, and permissions
  • Support collaboration and workflow tools used across the organization
  • Educate users on best practices and new features
  • Maintain system and process documentation
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Training)
  • Experience in manufacturing, operations, or a similar production environment
  • Experience working with centralized data repositories used for reporting and analytics.
  • SharePoint Online administration experience
  • Exposure to API integrations, webhooks, or middleware platforms
  • Understanding of data governance and access control principles
  • Experience working with or alongside a steering committee, project team, or cross-functional group
Required Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
  • Experience supporting enterprise or business systems in a production environment
  • Hands‑on experience with desktop hardware, workstations, and end‑user devices
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience with Automation Workflow
  • SQL querying and reporting experience
  • Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online support experience
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Compensation
$75,000-$85,000

Working Conditions
This position works primarily in an office environment and occasionally within our manufacturing facility. We are a 24-hr operation; this position must be flexible and be available to support Production teams on all three shifts around major events or outages. Availability outside regular working hours is required.

Standard Office:

  • Comfortable environment with exposure to some dust, dirt or other conditions which might produce mild discomfort.
  • Frequent, short periods when it is necessary to pay close attention to the monitoring of sights and sounds.
  • Moderate mental demands due to one or more conditions, which are present in the job.  There may be noticeable pressure from simultaneous priorities and deadlines.
Manufacturing Plant:
  • Temperature controlled indoor area
  • Comfortable environment with exposure to some dust, dirt or other conditions which might produce mild discomfort.
  • Frequent, short periods when it is necessary to pay close attention to the monitoring of sights and sounds.
  • Safety sensitive environment with mobile equipment and overhead cranes.
